Thiago Motta appointed as new Juventus coach to replace Massimiliano Allegri
Brazilian-Portuguese coach Thiago Motta has been appointed as the new coach of Italian Serie A side Juventus FC, thus replacing Massimiliano Allegri in the dugout.
Reports say Juventus’ contract proposal to Thiago Motta to become their new head coach ahead of next season is a three-year deal, valid until June 2027.
This was revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who stated in a post on his X handle (formerly Twitter) that Motta, who is the current coach of Bologna, will inform his employers about the deal proposed to him by Juventus.
‘’Juventus contract proposal to Thiago Motta to become their new head coach for next season is a three-year deal, valid until June 2027.
‘’Thiago Motta did an excellent job as Bologna manager qualifying to UCL, and he will inform the club about his final decision soon.’’ Romano wrote on his official X handle.
Motta will replace Allegri as Juventus’ manager next season, following Allegri’s departure in February due to a fallout with the club’s board.
The appointment of Motta comes a day after Allegri led Juventus to win a record-extending 15th Coppa Italia on Wednesday following a 1-0 defeat of Atalanta.
After the win, Allegri, became the first coach to win the Coppa Italia five times, after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Roberto Mancini both lifted the trophy on four occasions each.
