Sagamu Peace Carnival: A Celebration of Harmony and Transformation

On Monday, June 17th, 2024, the streets of Sagamu came alive with the rhythm of peace and unity as youths and indigents gathered at Ita Oba, Akarigbo Road, for the inaugural Sagamu Peace Carnival.

The celebration, which started with a novelty match among some selected youths of Sagamu. It was Indeed a peaceful carnival as the purpose of the carnival was to signify the return of peace to Sagamu, and a stop to cult clash, conflicts, and killings that has plagued the community in time past.

The carnival featured a diverse range of performances, including music, dances and cheering. The crowd was wowed by the vibrant costumes, intricate choreography, and infectious energy of the performers. Dignitaries and stakeholders joined the festivities, their smiles, and laughter mingling with the music and dance.

About a few months ago, 48 cultists in Sagamu surrendered their ammunition and arms to the state police, this carnival was to further solidify that act stating that there would be no more cult clash and conflicts in the land, thereby acknowledging that all business owners and stakeholders can stay calm and bring back their business to Sagamu.

Part of the dignitaries in attendance are; the Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Radanuwa of idado HRH oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, Hon. Bello Mohammed Oluwadamilare, Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole, and other important stakeholders.

The carnival was a proof of the community’s resolve to put aside its troubled past and embrace a brighter and peaceful future.
