Riccardo Calafiori wants Arsenal move after agreeing €4m net salary
Talented Italian defender Riccardo Calafiori is reportedly eager to move to English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal after agreeing to a net salary worth €4 million.
This update is per a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who also informed that the deal to sign Calafiori is for five years.
Romano noted that the club-to-club agreement with Bologna still being negotiated for the versatile player was one of the standout performers in the EURO 2024 group stage with Italy.
‘‘Riccardo Calafiori wants Arsenal, after the agreement on personal terms around €4m net salary on five years deal.
‘‘Calafiori, is keen on joining Arteta but the club-to-club agreement with Bologna is still being negotiated.
‘‘Chelsea have now signed Renato Veiga who can play as LB.’’ Romano wrote on X.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has approved a move to sign Calafiori from Serie A side, Bologna.
The 22-year-old defender’s impressive Euro 2024 performances for Italy have sparked speculation of a Premier League move.
Reports say Arteta has penciled Calafiori as one of three defender targets and is optimistic about the deal due to Arsenal’s good relationship with Bologna after signing Takehiro Tomiyasu two seasons ago.
