Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt, Rescue Three Indian Nationals in Ogun

In a daring operation, the Ogun State Police Command thwarted a kidnapping attempt and rescued three Indian nationals unharmed.

The incident occurred on May 4th as the victims were returning to their residence at Kajola junction, Mowe, in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state. According to Channels Television, reports from the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, six suspected kidnappers had ambushed the victims.

Upon receiving the distress call from the Manager of Breeze Company Limited Nigeria, located at Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the police swiftly mobilised, engaging the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle along the Benin-Sagamu Papalanto axis on May 7th. The exchange resulted in the neutralisation of two suspects and the rescue of the hostages.

Among the items recovered from the scene were two AK-47 rifles, one single-barrel locally made gun, a sword, cell phones, criminal charms, and 65 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, authorities seized a substantial ransom sum of N7,900,000 along with 1,500 Rupees of Indian currency.

Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining four fleeing members of the kidnap gang, while the demobilised suspects have been deposited at the mortuary.
