PDP Will Win Hands Down if Ogun LG Elections Are Free and Fair – Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole
Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole (ABO), an active member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu, Remo, and Ogun State, has claimed confidence that his party (PDP) will win the upcoming local government election hands down, with a predicted 90-10% margin, if the election is free and fair.
He expressed frustration over the opposition’s undemocratic tactics, such as pulling down PDP billboards, posters, and campaign materials.
“If there’s a free and fair election, PDP will win hands down, and the whole town knows PDP will win 90/10%, as soon as the election is free, but you know them. They’re pulling our billboard down, pulling our poster down, you know. They’re not democratic.
“As an example, this is me Asiwaju Bola Oluwole, you know me well, you see me well, I’ve not been in politics for a long time, But you just have to be consistent. One thing I know for sure is that we’re ready which ever way it comes” ABO stated.
It’s worth noting that local elections can have a significant impact on daily life, influencing decisions on education, transportation, police, and parks.
However, voter turnout in local elections is often low, with only 15-27% of eligible voters casting ballots. This can lead to elected officials being disproportionately influenced by older, affluent voters, rather than representing the broader community.
Against all speculations, the Local government election across Ogun state is still scheduled for November 16th 2024.
