PARIS OLYMPIC QUALIFIER: 14 players now in camp ahead of game against South Africa

No fewer than 14 players have arrived at the training camp of the Super Falcons of Nigeria ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifying game against the Bayana Bayana of South Africa.

Recall that six players, including home-based goalkeeper Linda Jiwuaku and defender Jumoke Alani, who was drafted following an injury to Saudi Arabia-based Ashleigh Plumptre, were the other early birds in camp for the game.

Veteran goalkeeper Tochukwu Oluehi, Shukurat Oladipo, Chidinma Okeke, and Gift Monday later joined up with the three players earlier mentioned ahead of the must-win encounter.

The number of players in camp has now increased to fourteen with the arrivals of Toni Payne, Uchenna Kanu, Chrisy Ucheibe, Osinachi Ohale, Rasheedat Ajibade, Jumoke Alani, Chiamaka Nnadozie, and Deborah Abiodun.

Recall that Bayana Bayana defeated Tanzania on an aggregate score of 4-0 to qualify, while the Super Falcons defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on a score of 1-0 to secure a position in the final round.

The Super Falcons would host the first leg at the Moshood Abiola Stadium on April 1, 2024, while the return leg would be played in South Africa eight days later.

The overall winner of the two-legged affair will secure a ticket for a flight to Paris in 2024, when the Olympics will take place in France from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
