Ondo Govt Pledges Security for Farmers, Engages Private Firm – AgroNigeria
Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has hired Global Olabod Resources Limited to enhance security in the state, particularly for farmers in forest reserves.
The firm will collaborate with Amotekun and other agencies to flush out hoodlums.
“The state governor wants food to be available for all. That’s why he has to protect farmers in their farmlands across the state through us,” said Mr. Eniola Ogunbodede, Chairman of Global Olabod Resources Limited.
The initiative aims to address farmers’ cries for help due to threats from hoodlums.
“Mr. Governor wants farmers to have assurance that they are safe and their farms are safe as well,” added Ogunbodede.
Farmers’ Association Chairman, Mr. Solomon Akinwole, praised the government for tackling kidnapping and attacks on farmers. Community Leader, Mr. Jaiyeoba Akingbade, promised full compliance, lamenting that many farmers had been forced off their land due to fear of herdsmen threats.
