Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, Boosts Police Force with 25 Patrol Vehicles, Surveillance Drones

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing security in the state by donating 25 patrol vehicles to the state police command and acquiring surveillance drones to monitor criminal activities effectively.

The donation ceremony, which took place at the Arcade Ground, Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, was attended by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun. Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of incorporating technology into crime-fighting efforts to ensure prompt response and effective policing.

Expressing gratitude to the police force for their dedication to law enforcement and safety in Ogun State, Governor Abiodun stated, “As a gesture of appreciation… we have decided to complement you and your efforts by donating today, 25 patrol vans to the police and our law enforcement architecture.” He highlighted the significance of the collaboration between Ogun, Lagos, and Oyo states in deploying surveillance drones along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to bolster security measures and enable swift emergency response.

Governor Abiodun commended the IGP for his leadership in repositioning the police force and urged the integration of modern technology to address security challenges nationwide. He reiterated Ogun State’s commitment to prioritizing the welfare and security of its residents through effective inter-agency cooperation and continuous investment in security infrastructure. In response, IGP Egbetokun lauded the governor’s innovative approach and assured that the additional resources would enhance the security architecture of the state, calling on other states to emulate Ogun’s proactive measures in safeguarding their citizens.
