Ogun State Executive Council Greenlights Key Infrastructure Projects

The Ogun State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, has given the green light to seven significant projects for implementation.

According to Kayode Akinmade, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, the approved projects encompass a range of infrastructural initiatives aimed at improving transportation networks and supporting agricultural activities.

Among the approved projects is the reconstruction of six roads, including the vital Abule Egba-Ota/Sango-Abeokuta Expressway, which serves as a critical artery connecting several communities in the state. Additionally, the council has sanctioned the purchase of essential equipment for the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport, signaling a commitment to enhancing the state’s aviation infrastructure and facilitating cargo operations.

Specifically, the approved road projects include the reconstruction of the 5.5-kilometer stretch from Ode Remo Junction to Sapade (phase 3), aimed at improving connectivity and accessibility in the region. Additionally, the rehabilitation of the Ayepe Junction to Mayflower road in Ikenne Local Government and the reconstruction of Adesan Street, off Mowe-Ofada Road in Obafemi Owode Local Government, are expected to address pressing transportation needs and enhance mobility for residents and commuters.
