NFF to Enhance Referee Equipment for Upcoming NPFL Season

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced plans to equip referees with advanced communication aids for the 2024-25 season, a move to improve the quality of officiating in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

This development was revealed by NFF Chairman Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau during the NPFL Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Abuja.

The move is aimed at reducing errors and enhancing overall match management, Gusau explained. “We have concluded the procurement of communication gadgets that can minimize errors, and these will be available for the new season,” he assured stakeholders at the AGM.

Moreover, the NFF is set to collaborate with international partners to train referees on the operations of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

The upcoming season kicks off on August 31 with an opening match between Rangers and El-Kanemi Warriors in Enugu.
