Napoli interested in signing Athletico’s Samu Omorodion as Victor Osimhen’s replacement
Italian Serie A side Napoli FC is keenly interested in signing Athletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion to replace Victor Osimhen, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
A report by Sky Italia reveals that Napoli views the 20-year-old, who was born in Melilla Spain, to Nigerian parents, as an ideal replacement for Osimhen, who is being linked with several clubs.
Atletico Madrid has a contract with the Spain U21 international that runs until June 2028. Even though he has a long-term contract, moving to Napoli is a possibility because of the chance to get more playing time and a significant role.
This comes weeks after reports suggested that Napoli is contemplating a move for Terem Moffi as a possible replacement for Osimhen due to his apparent departure from the former Serie A champions.
To replace the former Lille striker, who will undoubtedly depart Napoli next summer, the Italian powerhouses might bring in Moffi, who has had a successful season for Ligue 1 club, OGC Nice.
Il Mattino claims, via Tutto Napoli, that Moffi is being evaluated as a potential replacement for his compatriot. The 24-year-old was a member of the Super Eagles team that placed second at the African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The value of Moffi, who has scored no fewer than 11 goals and provided two assists in 26 league games for Nice this season, is reported to be around €30 million.
