Mauricio Pochettino talks about his future plans as Chelsea coach

The coach of English Premier League (EPL) side Chelsea FC, Mauricio Pochettino, has opened up about his plans for the club after an average first season at Stamford Bridge.

The well-travelled Argentine professional football manager and former player-per-transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, said that the important thing is that he has started building a structure at the club.

Pochettino stated that the plan is to build a solid foundation step by step, and if they continue on that trajectory, the club will be strong for the next few years and will be able to contest for trophies.

The coach said, “The important thing is that we’ve started building the structure.”

“We’re wanting to build our house step by step, very solid. If we’re happy to live like this, we’ll be strong for the next few years. It’ll allow us to fight for things.”

This comes days after Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly defended the club’s spending spree after shelling out over £1 billion as Blues boss since he took over at Stamford Bridge.

Since Boehly took management in 2022, Chelsea has invested a total of €1.0802 billion (€1,080.2 million) in transactions. Raheem Sterling was his first big acquisition at Stamford Bridge once he became the owner.

The American businessman and investor who defended the team’s spending culture during the recently staged Qatar Economic Forum insisted that Chelsea are not on a spending spree; rather, they are investing the money.
