Marseille still interested in signing Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah despite two rejected bids

French Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille are still mulling on a move to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah despite having two bids rejected by the English Premier League club.

Per respected Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the option of Marseille signing the player remains on the table as Arsenal is open to discussing fresh terms of the deal again.

Romano also disclosed that the French club also explored the possibility of signing Elye Wahi of RC Lens in the last twenty-four hours after signing Youssouffa Moukoko on a separate deal from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

‘‘Olympique Marseille explored a move for Wahi in the last 24 hours…

‘‘…while Eddie Nketiah’s option remains on the table after Arsenal open to discussing terms of the deal again after the bid was rejected last week.

‘‘OM are reflecting…Moukoko, separate deal.’’ Romano wrote on his X handle.

Last week, Marseille reportedly tabled the sum of £16.8million (€20m) to sign the 25-year-old player after their initial bid to sign the striker was rejected by Arsenal.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic (via Football London), the amount tabled by Marseille is some way off the valuation of the striker but talks between the two clubs are still ongoing.

Ornstein’s article states that the striker has accepted a transfer to France and signed a five-year contract to join De Zerbi’s team.
