Lyon, Marseille and Besiktas interested in signing Anthony Martial
Talented French striker Anthony Martial is on the radar of three top European clubs which are working behind the scenes to sign him after he left EPL side Manchester United.
Marseille, Besiktas, and Lyon— a team where Martial emerged from the ranks before heading to Monaco—are all interested in signing the player, according to a report released by Sky Sports.
According to additional sources, teams from Mexico, the MLS, and Saudi Arabia are reportedly keeping an eye on the situation, although the 28-year-old player would prefer to stay in Europe.
Martial, though, will probably need to demonstrate his fitness to any potential suitors, as a string of injuries limited him to just 13 Premier League games in the last campaign.
This development comes days after Martial announced his departure from Manchester United after nine years of service.
Martial, who was acquired from Monaco in 2015 and has 90 goals in 317 games for United, played his last game for the club in a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth at home on December 9.
Given that he had not been a member of the team for months and had suffered injuries in previous seasons, his departure was anticipated.
Martial did not play in the squad for Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City.
