Lidero Festival Day 6: Radanuwa of Idado Leads Youths on Courtesy Visit to Akarigbo of Remoland
Idado, Sagamu, witnessed a display of unity and cultural heritage yesterday, as the Radanuwa of Idado, Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile,and his queen led a colorful rally through the community’s streets. The event marked Day 6 of the Lidero Festival and Celebration.
The rally began with a traditional ceremony at the Palace, where the Tobalase (Eyo) paid homage to the monarch, reaffirming their loyalty and commitment. This ancient ritual underscored the enduring bond between the crown and its subjects.
Oba Soile, his queen, chiefs, and youths then proceeded to visit notable establishments, including Samad Superstore and De Cellar Spirit and Wine, promoting local commerce and community spirit.
A significant highlight was the visit to the Palace of the Akarigbo of Remo, HRM Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, where the two monarchs emphasized collaboration and harmony. The Akarigbo offered heartfelt prayers for the people of Idado, wishing them peace and divine guidance.
The rally continued with stops at local vendors, listening to citizens’ concerns, and celebrating Idado’s rich cultural heritage. The Radanuwa’s visit to Olori Ebi Allison’s residence symbolized a commitment to unity and leadership grounded in the community.
As the sun set, the royal couple led the procession back to the Palace, weaving through joyful streets filled with music and laughter. This unforgettable day reinforced the bond between the monarchy and the community, embodying the spirit of togetherness.
