Lidero Festival Day 2: Idado Community Celebrates with Ram Charging Competition, Other Activities

Idado community in Sagamu, Ogun State, has continued its celebration of the maiden edition of the Lidero Festival with a thrilling ram charging competition. The event, which took place on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at St. Paul’s Field, Aiyepe Road, was chaired by Comrade Segun Okeowo.

The day’s activities began with a traditional prayer session at the palace of the Radanuwa of Idado, led by the Olootu Akala Idado. The prayer session was attended by HRH Oba Musiliu Oriyomi Soile, the Radanuwa of Idado, the Queen, Chiefs, and other dignitaries.

The ram charging competition, a highly anticipated event, drew a large crowd of spectators and gladiators. The event was graced by the presence of the Ram Lovers Association of Nigeria.

One of the highlights of the day was the conferment of a new title, “The Amunuobadun of Idado,” on a young man by the king. The king encouraged youths to take their talents and jobs seriously, as that is how God will bless them.

The celebration is scheduled continue on Monday, September 16, with another prayer session and other activities.
