Lazio keen on signing 18-year-old Nigerian youth striker Hafiz Umar
Italian Serie A side Lazio has shown keen interest in signing 18-year-old Nigerian wonder-kid Hafiz Umar Ibrahim who is currently on trial with English Premier League side Chelsea.
This was made known in a recent report published by LondonWorld which states that Lazio has shown interest in the striker as Chelsea are yet to reach an agreement with his club, Ojodu City.
The inability of Chelsea to reach an agreement with Hafiz’s club has piqued the interest of Lazio who are monitoring the situation with reports also revealing that Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt are also reportedly interested in the player.
About a month ago, Chelsea were firming up their interest in signing the striker after undergoing a successful two-week trial with Chelsea’s Football Club Development Squad and Academy but the deal has stalled as no agreement has been reached.
After making an impression at the 74th annual Viareggio Cup, a prestigious youth tournament in Italy, where he ended as the tournament’s top scorer with 10 goals in six matches, the 18-year-old became a hot commodity in the football market.
Recall that in February, Chelsea FC had Raheem Sterling jumped on a video calling on the young Nigerian striker to convince him of their interest in signing him.
