Juventus considered favourites to sign Manchester United target Jean-Clair Todibo

Italian Serie A side Juventus are considered to be the clear favourites to sign France and Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo ahead of EPL side Manchester United.

The French defender is eager to join Juventus this summer to rejoin Khephren Thuram, who is scheduled to have a medical with the Serie A team this week, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

After failing to sign talented Italy and Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori, who is reportedly heading to Arsenal, the Bianconeri are hoping to finalize a deal for Todibo.

Manchester United hoped to sign the talented French defender from Ligue 1 side Nice but the deal is currently off due to UEFA rules.

Todibo, 24, had long been targeted by the Red Devils, but a recent directive forbidding player exchanges among clubs with dual ownership makes it unlikely for them to sign him.

Negotiations were well underway for months, but the same ownership of Nice and Man Utd, along with their participation in the same European competition next season, has halted the deal.

UEFA will block Todibo from joining Manchester United due to ownership issues, ending his Premier League hopes.
