JHIMIS EDUCATION FOUNDATION GIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO 30 INDIGENT STUDENTS OF METHODIST CHURCH, REMO DIOCESE

In a bid to supporting education across Remo land, the JHIMIS EDUCATION FOUNDATION Under the Chairmanship of Sir Teju Ogunjimi KJW in the Maiden edition offered scholarship to 30 indigent students of the Remo Diocese of Methodist church.

JHIMIS EDUCATION FOUNDATION GIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO 30 INDIGENT STUDENTS OF METHODIST CHURCH, REMO DIOCESEThe event took place on Sunday, 9th October 2022, at the Methodist church Ikenne-Remo,in the Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun state.

Presenting the Scholarship to beneficiaries, Sir Teju Ogunjimi reiterated the importance of education to the society, he said the primary Objective of the JHIMIS Education Foundation is to finance partly or in whole the education of brilliant students having financial constraint in their quest for knowledge.

JHIMIS EDUCATION FOUNDATION GIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO 30 INDIGENT STUDENTS OF METHODIST CHURCH, REMO DIOCESEHe said that alongside his wife, they had been inspired by the Holy Spirit to set up the Education Foundation, in commemoration of her 60th birthday anniversary, and to that effect there was a N50 Million Naira fund-raiser to put into reality the dream.

The Board of trustees secretary of the foundation, Barr. Adeolu S. Odugbeno while enumerating on the journey so far stated that, of the 87 students who collected the Form, 53 submitted the forms back while a total of 30 were selected in the first phase after the screening process, 22 being students from the secondary school section, while the remaining 8 were in tertiary institutions.

Dr. Toluwalope Ogunjimi, a board of trustee member, stated that the foundation was here to stay, and would continually do all within reach to boost the Educational development of the Methodist diocese of Remo while building on the progress of its Maiden edition.

In order to keep the students on their toes and imbibe the culture of readership among the beneficiaries, the Board of trustee had passed a resolution that any beneficiary who failed in his/her academics will automatically be removed from the scholarship scheme.

Speaking to Remotv correspondents after the event, a Beneficiary by name Ahmed Samson Moses, appreciated the Foundation on the opportunity to further his studies, he said the continuity of his education was at a point not guaranteed as his parents were financially handicapped.

Parents and guardians were all praises to God and the JHIMIS Education Foundation for taking the plight of the ordinary man into consideration and coming to rescue.

Mrs. Adepelumi, mother to one of the beneficiaries with teary eyes said” God bless the family of Sir Teju Ogunjimi KJW and all those who have made contributions so that our children can be in school, I don’t have anything to give them, but I pray God richly blesses them”.

The Chairman of the Foundation stated that they were not politically affiliated, sponsorship was majorly from well-meaning philanthropists who shared in the vision of the family of Sir Teju Ogunjimi, in service to God and humanity.

The Bishop of Ikenne Diocese, Very Rev. Emmanuel Olusola, described the Foundation as being a God sent initiative, he prayed for the longevity of the foundation and a steady flow of income that will aid in taking the foundation to a next level.
