JAMB Dismisses Allegation of UTME Score Without Exam Participation as Fake

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has refuted a viral report claiming that an unidentified lady received a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) score without sitting for the exam.

The report, circulated by an online platform and subsequently shared by a Facebook user named Gozie, alleged that a girl who encountered technical issues at her exam center mysteriously obtained scores without participating in the UTME, as reported by DailyPost.

In response, JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, denounced the report as false and malicious, asserting that it was a deliberate attempt to undermine the Board’s integrity. Benjamin urged the public to disregard such “irresponsible publications” and clarified that the Board’s investigation revealed instances where mischief makers tampered with results sent to other candidates, edited the details, and misrepresented them as originating from JAMB. He invited anyone with evidence of such claims to come forward with details and the corresponding phone numbers used to convey the results.

Furthermore, JAMB emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of its systems and processes against malicious actors seeking to sow confusion. The Board assured the public that neither its results nor any of its procedures had been compromised. It vowed to enhance the scrutiny of result-checking processes to prevent further attempts at manipulation, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining a transparent and trustworthy examination system.
