Iheanacho reveals impact Guardiola, Aguero, Dzeko, and Negredo had on his football career
Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed the impact that his former coach Pep Guardiola and teammates Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Alvaro Negredo, and Stephan Jovetic had on his football career when he joined Manchester City.
Iheanacho who made the comments in a recent interview said that he learned a lot being coached by Guardiola and playing alongside the players as mentioned earlier.
The 27-year-old who left his former club Leicester as a free agent stated that he hopes that he can contribute what he learnt from Guardiola and his former teammates to his new club.
“I have learned a lot playing alongside those players and from a great coach like Pep. They are legends,” Iheanacho told the club’s official website.
“I hope that with everything I learned there, I can contribute everything to this club and help it reach greater heights.”
Iheanacho, courted by several clubs in the English Premier League (EPL) and Turkey, also confessed why he pitched his tent with Sevilla.
“Yes, there were offers from many clubs. But yes, obviously, there was a clear idea of what they wanted me to do here and why they brought me here in football terms,” he added.
“I was very clear about coming here. I’m going to take advantage and give it my all, I hope it’s a great opportunity.”
