‘I am yet to receive offers from foreign clubs after AFCON heroics’ —Nwabali
Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s first-choice Goalkeeper, has stated that he has not yet been contacted directly by any foreign clubs for his signature after his AFCON 2023 heroics.
Nwabali, who made the disclosure in a chat with FARPost, said that honestly speaking, he has not received any offer from any club ever since the conclusion of the Nations Cup.
The goalkeeper further stated that clubs might have spoken to his team or his manager, but they could not approach him because it would have been unprofessional.
“You see, to be honest, I’ve never seen anything on my table ever since AFCON,” Nwabali told FARPost.
“Maybe those clubs might have spoken to my team or my manager. But at this point, we can’t do anything.
“And they can’t approach me because it would be unprofessional. They must go to my club or my manager.
So I don’t know if there’s something on the table, maybe waiting for the summer or transfer window. You know most clubs always do this. You’re opening the door to other clubs when they show interest.
“So, some people always keep it a secret, and when they get you, they get you once. For now, I know nothing.”
Recall earlier that there were initial reports that two clubs, including English Championship club Queens Park Rangers and Saudi pro-club side Al Ettifaq, were lining up bids to sign the gifted Chippa United of South Africa goalkeeper.
This was made known in a post shared by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed that the English and Saudi Arabian sides inquired about Nwabali.
