High Chief Ojekunle Eleyele Yekini, Passes Away At 50
High Chief Ojekunle Eleyele Yekini passed away on Sunday, August 25, at the age of 50. The late chief, who held the titles of Oluwo Akarigbo of Remo and Oba Alayelala of Ogun State, died after a brief illness.
According to our informer, Chief Eriwosin of Sagamu, Akarigbo, High Chief Yekini had been engaged in his usual activities on Saturday, including attending to his duties. However, his health took a sudden turn for the worse on Sunday, and he was rushed from one hospital to another until Babcock Hospital, where he sadly passed away.
The circumstances of his death have been clarified, as initial rumors suggested an accident. However, it has been confirmed that his passing was due to a brief and sudden illness.
“He was not involved in an accident, in fact, that was the car we used in taking him to the hospital (pointing at a wine Honda Pilot Jeep) during the incidence of his brief illness. We went from one hospital to another until we got to Babcock Hospital where he gave up the ghost” said Chief Eriwosin.
Burial arrangements for the late chief are yet to be announced, as traditional rites need to be performed.
