Dean Jones predicts Iheanacho will leave Leicester City at the end of the season
Well-known football transfer correspondent Dean Jones has predicted that Nigerian international striker Kelechi Iheanacho will leave his club, Leicester City, at the end of the season.
Jones, who made the prediction recently, said that Iheanacho will likely leave Leicester at the end of the season and he may likely pitch tents with Turkish side Trabzonspor.
According to him, Trabzonspor are one of the teams gunning for his signature next season and the option may have become very real, even though it seems to be early in his career.
“It looks like he (Iheanacho) will leave Leicester, and at the moment, the most likely path for him to take is to Turkey.
Trabzonspor are one of the teams for him, and these sorts of options might have to become very real, even though it seems to be early in his career,” Jones told GIVEMESPORT.
“From a Leicester point of view, keeping him doesn’t seem a wise move as he is one of the higher earners in that side, and he has only started ten games in a season when they are going for a Championship promotion.”
With just 25 league appearances for Leicester City this season, Iheanacho, 27, has only scored six goals, and since returning from the 2023 AFCON, he has had difficulty finding playing time.
The contract of the player who moved from Manchester City to Leicester City in 2017 will expire at the end of June, and the Foxes are unlikely to offer him a new deal.
