Chelsea prepared to ask for transfer fee over £50m for Conor Gallagher
English Premier League (EPL) side Chelsea are prepared to ask for a transfer fee over the sum of £50 million for their midfielder Conor Gallagher this summer.
This much was revealed in a post shared on X by respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who also noted that Aston Villa, Tottenham and one club from abroad are keen on signing him
Romano noted further in his post shared on his social media page that though negotiations for the player have not started yet, Chelsea see Gallagher’s case as similar to that of Mason Mount, who left the club for Manchester United last summer.
‘‘Chelsea are prepared to ask for a fee in excess of £50m for Conor Gallagher this summer.
‘‘After Mount deal last summer, Chelsea see Gallagher in similar position with Aston Villa, Tottenham and one club from abroad keen on signing him.
‘‘No negotiations taking place yet.’’ Romano wrote on his official X handle.
This comes days after Chelsea’s ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, declared that they are confident that newly appointed coach Enzo Maresca can help fulfil the club’s vision and competitive goals.
“We look forward to supporting him and the rest of the sporting team in fulfilling their potential and our expectations over the years to come”.
“He is a highly gifted coach and leader that we are confident can help fulfil our vision and competitive goals for the club.”. Chelsea ownership group said in a statement issued on Monday.
Maresca has penned a five-year contract as the new Chelsea manager, having accepted the challenge of returning the club to the Champions League as a bare minimum.
Enzo Maresca’s staff will include former goalkeeper Willy Caballero, Danny Walker, Michele De Bernardin, Marcos Alvarez, Javi Molina, and Roberto Vitiello.
