Bauchi to Commence Distribution of Fertilizer Donated by CBN

Bauchi State has completed arrangements to distribute 70 trucks of fertilizer donated by the Central Bank of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

Speaking on Tuesday, the chairman of the distribution committee, Emir of Jama’are, Nuhu Wabi, revealed that the donation is aimed at enhancing farming activities across the state.

“The committee will ensure the fertilizer reaches farmers in all polling units within the 20 local government areas of the state,” Wabi stated.

He added that various community groups, labor unions, religious organizations, women’s and youth groups, and other bodies will receive the fertilizer at no cost.

Wabi expressed appreciation to both the Bauchi State government and the federal government for their efforts, noting that this gesture will significantly support grassroots farmers.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the fertilizer effectively to increase agricultural production and strengthen food security in the state.

He also thanked the state government for entrusting the committee with this responsibility and pledged to maintain fairness and equity in the distribution process.

Recalling the committee’s terms of reference upon its inauguration, Wabi noted that their responsibilities include establishing criteria for selecting genuine farmers and associations, ensuring fair distribution of the fertilizer, and submitting a comprehensive report to the state government within three weeks.
