Athletico Madrid rejects €35m offer for Samu Omorodion two weeks ago
Spanish La Liga side Atlético Madrid reportedly rejected an offer of over €35 million for its young striker Samu Omorodion about two weeks ago, according to reports.
This was made known in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who informed that the offer was presented by EPL club, West Ham.
‘‘Atlético Madrid rejected an offer in excess of €35m for Samu Omorodion two weeks ago — the proposal was from West Ham.
‘‘Atlético are also aware of Serie A clubs’ interest including AS Roma but there’s still no proposal, no formal bid.’’ Romano wrote on his official X handle.
Recall that Italian Serie A side Napoli FC were keenly interested in signing Omorodion to replace Victor Osimhen, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Born in Melilla, Spain, to Nigerian parents, the 20-year-old is viewed by Napoli as the perfect substitute for Osimhen, who is being connected to other teams, according to a report by Sky Italia.
The Spain U21 international’s contract with Atletico Madrid expires in June 2028. Despite the extended duration of his contract, Atletico Madrid may decide to move him to Napoli in order to take into consideration this chance to play a bigger and more important part.
