Aso Multi Media Partners FIRS to Flag Off South West Youth Acquisition Training

Aso Multi Media has partnered with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to launch a youth skills acquisition program in the South West region of Nigeria, aimed at empowering young people across six states.

The initiative, set to be officially launched in Ibadan, Oyo State on August 26, 2024, marks a significant effort to combat youth unemployment and poverty in the South West. The Project Coordinator and Executive Director of Aso Multi Media, Ambassador Kingsley Tolu Agboola, explained that the program is “carefully designed to fight poverty within the youth population through impactful empowerment.”

The training will cover a wide range of professional fields including technology, agriculture, waste management, and beauty/fashion, reflecting the diverse opportunities available to young people in the region. According to Agboola, participants will be drawn from all six states in the geopolitical zone—Ondo, Ekiti, Lagos, Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States—with each state contributing 20 trainees, totaling 120 beneficiaries.

Ambassador Desmond Agboola, the convener, emphasized that the participants would receive training and gain practical experience through internships following the program. “This project is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities of the South West Advancement Award and Investment Summit,” he added, highlighting the initiative’s broader commitment to regional development.

The Southwest Advancement Award and Investment Summit, organized by Aso Multi Media, has been a consistent platform for promoting regional growth since its inception in 2021 in Lagos. Earlier this year, the organization also hosted the Southwest Youth Entrepreneurship Summit 2024 in March, further showcasing its dedication to fostering entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.

This partnership between Aso Multi Media and FIRS underscores a strategic effort to harness the potential of the youth in the South West and equip them with the skills necessary for a sustainable future.
