Arsenal eye shock move for veteran Wolves goalkeeper Dan Bentley

English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal FC are eyeing a shock move to secure the services of Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Dan Bentley as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsdale.

The Athletic reports that the Gunners have made contact with Wolves regarding the potential transfer of Bentley, who joined Molineux from Bristol City in January 2023.

Aaron Ramsdale, who has been linked to a summer transfer out of the club, may be replaced by Bentley and the North London team hopes to sign as soon as possible.

This report comes days after Arsenal formally activated the buy option for talented Spanish international goalkeeper David Raya from Brentford.

Per a report by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano which was shared on his official X handle, Raya has now been signed on a permanent by Arsenal in a deal worth £27 million.

Romano also noted in his post on the micro-blogging platform that the deal has already been decided and completed with Arsenal set to issue a formal statement regarding the deal.

Recall that Arsenal completed the signing of Raya last August on an initial £3 million loan deal with a £27 million option to buy in the summer.

The £27 million option has now become an obligation to buy because David Raya was able to meet certain conditions in the contract relating to appearances.
