Anthony Joshua may have only one or three fights left in his career —Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn, the Chief Executive Officer CEO of Matchroom Sports has disclosed that he thinks British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua just has only one or three fights left in his career.

The boxing buff stated that he made the admission in a candid conversation with Anthony Joshua after his recent brutal defeat to his compatriot Daniel Dubois.

Speaking to Charlie Parson of The Stomping Ground, Hearn said, “I said to AJ on the phone you’ve probably got between one and three fights left. Then it went a bit quiet.

“He kind of realized, blimey, we’re on the home straight. We really are.”

Recall that after he suffered a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, the pugilist disclosed to reporters that he had no plans of retiring from boxing following his defeat.

After being thrashed by Dubois, many suggested that Joshua might want to think about retiring, but Joshua has stated that he firmly intends to continue with his career.

“Probably you’re asking: ‘Do I still want to continue fighting?’ Of course, I want to continue fighting,” Joshua said.

Joshua would go on to clarify that although he lost his opportunity to win a world title at the highest level of the sport, he is not planning to give up on the sport altogether.

“We have to give credit to our opponent as well, Daniel. Well done to him and his team and also thank you to my team as well for the way they prepared for me. There were a few mistakes in there but that’s the name of the game,” Joshua said. “Fine margins can cost you at the top level.”
