Aaron Ramsdale completes £25m move from Arsenal to Southampton

England international goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has finally completed a £25 million move from top-flight English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal to local rivals Southampton.

Per a report shared on the X page of football transfer journalist David Ornstein, the goalkeeper is currently undergoing a medical at Southampton before completing the move to Arsenal.

Ornstein also revealed that the 26-year-old will be joining Southampton on a proposed five-year contract worth £18 million upfront, £1 million on Premier League survival, and another £6 million of further incentives making it a £25 million potential payment to Arsenal.

The journalist wrote thus on his X page; ‘‘Aaron Ramsdale undergoing medical at Southampton before completing a permanent switch from Arsenal. 26yo goalkeeper joining #SaintsFC on proposed 4+1yr contract. £18m up front, £1m on PL survival, £6m of further incentives; max £25m to #AFC @TheAthleticFC

Meanwhile, Arsenal is wasting no time in finding a suitable replacement for Ramsadale with reports suggesting that the club has agreed on personal terms with Espanyol GK Joan García.

Reports say Arsenal have submitted €20 million package to Espanyol with add-ons included for Joan García as the new goalkeeper to replace departed Ramsdale.

Agents Juanma López and Andy Bara brought the proposal to Espanyol but the club is holding out for a €30 million clause for the player who has agreed personal terms with Arsenal.
