Raphael Varane set to leave Manchester United as free agent at the end of current season
Manchester United defender Raphael Varane is set to leave the club at the end of the season as a free agent, with the player said to have decided in January.
The Frenchman left Old Trafford after Manchester United did not offer the player a new contract proposal based on his appearances for the EPL club.
Varane, 31, who has made 93 appearances for the squad so far, will be available on the market since his contract will not be renewed and no talks are now pending for the player. Varane has provided a great deal of class and experience to Manchester United.
The player has now officially announced that, after three uneven seasons at Old Trafford, he will be departing Manchester United in the summer when his contract expires.
In a message to the fans of the club, Varane, who arrived at the club from Real Madrid in August 2021, said that his last game for Manchester United will be emotional.
He said, “I’ll see you all at Old Trafford to say goodbye for the last game at home this season.
“It’s going to be a very emotional day for me,” Varane concluded in his message to fans.
