NNPC Assures 30-Day Petrol Sufficiency Amidst Supply Improvements

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited has provided reassurance to consumers regarding the availability of petrol, stating that it has sufficient stock to last for the next 30 days.

With over 1.5 billion liters of petrol in stock, the Corporation has urged the public to refrain from panic buying, emphasizing that there is no shortage of supply.

Following observations by Vanguard indicating the disappearance of queues at most filling stations in Abuja and surrounding suburbs, except at NNPC retail outlets, where petrol is sold at a cheaper price, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, highlighted that nationwide supply of petrol will continue to improve in the coming days. Soneye emphasized that the corporation is collaborating with relevant downstream agencies and labor unions to address hoarding and other unwholesome practices.

In a statement, Soneye noted, “The company wishes to state that at the moment, it has over 1.5 billion litres stock of PMS, which is equivalent to over 30 days sufficiency.” He further added that the NNPC Limited remains committed to ensuring adequate petrol supply across the nation, working closely with regulatory authorities and security operatives to maintain stability in the petroleum sector.
