Super Falcons’ Chiamaka Nnadozie bags Best Goalkeeper In French League award
Super Falcons and Paris FC goalkeeper Chiamake Nnadozie has bagged the Best Goalkeeper In French League award in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league).
The 23-year-old goalkeeper’s incredible accomplishments this season, which included her heroics in saving penalties, solidified her place among the world’s best goalkeepers.
Nnadozie won the prize over Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG, securing her status as the first player from Nigeria and Africa to be named the best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema women’s league.
Shortly after the goalie’s triumph, Pierre Ferracci, the president of Paris FC, praised her for her outstanding performances and asserted that she was deserving of the honour.
“It’s very pleasing because she deserves it and she achieved an exceptional Champions League, not only on penalties. She is adorable. It is deserved. We know that she will be courted this summer but we will try to keep her,” Ferracci said at the ceremony.
With 42 points, her team, Paris FC, is currently third in the league, eight points behind their local rivals, Paris Saint-Germain, and eleven points behind Lyon, the league leaders.
