Antonio Conte set to return to coaching as next Napoli coach —Report
Italian professional football manager Antonio Conte is set to return to coaching as the new gaffer of Serie A side Napoli FC after his last job as coach of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
Conte and Napoli have reportedly already reached an agreement, with the coach receiving a hefty three-year contract for €6.5 million (£5.56 million/$7 million) per season, according to Italian network RAI.
Furthermore, it’s reported that Conte included a condition allowing Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, to withhold his opinions on football-related subjects, giving the manager total control over club concerns.
Additionally, it has been reported that Conte, who has a wealth of Serie A coaching experience with teams like Juventus, Inter Milan, and others, had previously been slow to finalize a deal with Napoli.
The 54-year-old has decided to take over at Napoli, which is presently ninth in the Serie A standings, nine points out of the Champions League spots and on track to earn a Conference League spot.
Conte, whose managerial career started in 2006, also played for the Italy national team and participated at the 1994 FIFA World Cup staged in the USA and UEFA Euro 2000, where Italy finished runners-up on both occasions.
