Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board Celebrates First Anniversary; To Hold Award Ceremony on November 24th
The Iperu Remo Education Trust Scheme Management Board will on Sunday, 24th November, 2024, celebrates its first anniversary of existence. The celebration will be commemorated with an award presentation ceremony holding at the Christ Apostolic Grammar School Hall, Iperu Remo, on the stated date.
Fifteen carefully-selected and well-deserved awardees have been chosen under various categories to receive awards on the day.
The Management Board constituted by the Iperu Development Association, was inaugurated by the Alaperu of Iperu, His Royal Highness, Oba Adeleke Adelekan IDOWU-BASIBO (Odoru V), FIEX, FICMC, on the 24th November, 2023, with the mandate of managing the trust scheme established to support educational initiatives and programmes in Iperu Remo.
The goals and objectives of the board led by the education enthusiast and successful entrepreneur, Mofopefoluwa JOSEPH, FRM, are as follows:
1. To provide financial support for the improvement of educational facilities and infrastructure in the Iperu Remo.
2. To award scholarships and grants to deserving students in order to promote access to quality education.
3. To organize and support educational programmes, workshops, and seminars for students, teachers, and parents, in order to enhance their educational development.
4. To collaborate with local schools and educational institutions, to implement projects and programmes that align with the educational needs of the community.
5. To establish partnerships and secure funding opportunities from external sources to enhance the resources available for educational initiatives in the community.
6. To monitor and evaluate the impact of the trust scheme on educational outcomes in Iperu Remo, and make necessary adjustments to improve effectiveness.
7. To promote community engagement and involvement in educational initiatives, encouraging parents and stakeholders to play an active role in the education of their children.
8. To ensure transparency and accountability in the management of funds, operations, and decision-making processes of the trust scheme.
9. To collaborate with government bodies and other organizations working towards improving education in the community to maximize resources, and avoid duplication of efforts.
10. To continuously assess and respond to the evolving educational needs and challenges of Iperu Remo community, and adapting strategies and initiatives accordingly.
Through these goals and objectives, the board within its one year of inauguration, is making a meaningful and sustainable impact on the educational development of the community, ultimately leading to improved academic performance, increased enrolment rates, and enhanced opportunities for students.
During the period, the board was able to achieve the following;
1. Constitution/inauguration/induction of Schools Liaison Teams.
2. Hosting the first, second, and third Education Sensitization Talks.
3. Scholarships and Grants for Iperu Indigent and Brilliant Students.
4. Vocational Skill Acquisition Training, with the hosting of the Solar/Inverter Design Training, and the subsequent graduation of trainees at the Ogun State Polytechnic of Health and Allied Sciences, Ilese.
5. Interactive Discourse with various stakeholders in Iperu, including the Christian and Muslim Clerics, and the Traditional Leaders and Ward Heads (Olorituns).
6. Construction of toilets in the secondary schools.
7. Reconstruction of damaged fence at AUD Primary School 1, Iperu.
8. Excursion by students and teachers to Lagos.
9. Sensitization Campaign on Drug Abuse
10. Sensitization campaign on education to Traditional worshippers on Isese Day.
11. Free enrolment of pupils into primary schools.
12. Public presentation of innovative students, Daniel AYODELE of Christ Apostolic Grammar School, and Olayinka AWOTEDU, of Akesan Community Grammar School, both of Iperu Remo
13. Donation of exercise books to primary, secondary and tertiary schools in Iperu, among other meaningful interventions
Other members of the board are, Otunba Olusegun OSINAIKE, a Permanent Secretary/Tutor General in the Lagos State Public Service as Vice Chairman; Mr. Olabanjo Muyiwa OSULARU, Secretary; Prof. Adeleke OSHO, of the Redeemers University, Ede; Dr. Rasaki AKINBO, Rector of the Ogun State College of Health and Applied Sciences, Ilese; Pastor Moses AKINBOWALE; Prince Gboyega AKINYEMI; and Mr. Taiwo RAJI, FCA, Executive Director.
Plans to having a successfully organized and remarkable event has reached an advanced stage, as the planning committee, led by Aremo Adegboyega AKINYEMI is putting final touches to such and earnestly working in that direction.
