Cincinnati FC coach Patrick Noonan praises Chidozie Awaziem’s sterling qualities
The coach of Major League Soccer (MLS) club Cincinnati FC, Patrick Noonan has praised the sterling qualities of talented Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem.
Noonan who commented on the qualities of the player on the club’s official website said that the player did well in their recent game against Querétaro in the League Cup.
He noted that the way Awaziem controlled his running, and the way the team were able to control the tempo with the ball at times showed that he managed the game in a good way.
“He was going to be honest with us about how he was feeling as the second half progressed.
“And I thought that the way he controlled his running, the way we were able to control the tempo with the ball at times, didn’t consistently put our back line in spots where they had to defend the space, he managed it for himself in the game in a good way.”
After signing with Cincinnati, the 27-year-old defender, previously with Portuguese club Boavista FC, mentioned that he was motivated to join his new team because of the fans’ love for soccer.
Awaziem mentioned in a club interview that he has watched all of Cincinnati’s games and is eager to contribute.
He added that he cannot wait to feel what it is like to be a player for FC Cincinnati and represent the club which he described as wonderful and amazing.
