‘Resist Temptation to Protest Against Gov’t, Focus on Farming Activities’ – Agric Minister
Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, has appealed to farmers and Nigerians to resist the temptation to protest against the government and instead focus on farming activities to bolster food security in the country.
Speaking on the recent decline in food prices, Kyari acknowledged the challenges faced by many due to the surge in food prices but noted that the government has initiated strategic policies and programs to support farmers, which are already yielding tangible results.
He cited the distribution of farming inputs under the NAGS-AP Program and the provision of fertilizers by the Central Bank as examples of the government’s efforts to support farmers.
Kyari urged Nigerians to concentrate their energies on nurturing their agricultural lands rather than engaging in protests, advocating for dialogue over protest and negotiation instead of confrontation.
He emphasized the need for unity, dialogue, and progress in working towards a future of abundance for all, saying, “Let us sow the seeds of unity, dialogue, and progress as we work tirelessly to fortify our nation’s agricultural sector.”
