Arsenal agrees €30m fee plus add-ons to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino
English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal football club has agreed on a fee worth the sum of €30 million fee plus add-ons to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino.
This was revealed in a recent report published by Relovo which states that the 28-year-old midfielder is set to join Arsenal and an announcement will be made soon.
In a related development, a report published by Mundo Deportivo two weeks ago disclosed that Arsenal has emerged as the favourite to land the player in the summer transfer window.
However, the report stated that Aston Villa, a Premier League team, is also eager to acquire the combative midfielder and will compete with Arsenal for the player.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has also explained what the North London club needs to do to upstage Manchester City next season.
The Spanish coach who opened up in an interview with the club’s official website said that his players must continue doing the things they are doing consistently to be at the top.
Born and raised in San Sebastián, Arteta who began his senior club career at Barcelona in 1999, also informed that he is weighing up where best to strengthen his squad.
