FMAFS Partners NIMC on Farmers’ Identity Verification

In a significant move to enhance the agricultural sector, improve agricultural data management, and streamline farmer identity verification, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, met with the Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, at his office earlier today. 

The meeting was also attended by the Honourable Minister of State, Dr. Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, and the Permanent Secretary.

The discussion focused on exploring partnership opportunities to improve agricultural data management, streamline farmer identity verification, and expand access to agricultural services and resources. 

This collaboration aims to leverage identity management systems to ensure transparency and efficiency in the agricultural sector.

Senator Kyari expressed excitement and appreciation for NIMC’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector, emphasising the potential benefits of this partnership. 

By integrating identity management systems, the government can improve the delivery of services to farmers, promote transparency, and drive efficiency in the sector.

As the partnership progresses, it is expected to yield positive outcomes for the nation’s food security and economic growth.
