Real Madrid officially unveils France and ex-PSG striker Kylian Mbappe
Spanish La Liga side Real Madrid has officially unveiled France and former Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe after courting the player for over seven years.
Fans of the Spanish club were permitted free access to the stadium, which resulted in seats selling out quickly as Madridstas flocked to witness the French captain in the Galacticos’ renowned white jersey.
Mbappe arrived at the stadium earlier in the day and underwent a physical before signing his deal. The megastar then posed with President Florentino Perez as part of his media obligations.
All of the formalities were broadcast live to the stadium’s supporters, who cheered and waited impatiently for him to go onto the pitch for them to see him live.
While speaking to the fans after his unveiling, Mbappe said; “This is the biggest club in the world. I want to win, I want to be part of the history of this club”.
“I see my mom in tears… It’s an incredible day for me. Let me say thanks to Florentino Pérez”.
“My dream came true today”.
“I’m happy, I’m really happy”.
“It feels incredible to be here. I’ve slept many years dreaming of Real Madrid and now… it’s reality”. The player noted.
Mbappe signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid worth £12.8 million a year after taxes; the 25-year-old will receive a signing-on bonus of slightly over £85 million from Real.
Kylian Mbappe cost Paris Saint-Germain £166 million in 2018 but left on a free transfer after his contract expired.
