‘Trust the process, trust the ideas,’ Maresca tells Chelsea fans ahead of next season

The newly employed coach of Chelsea FC Enzo Maresca has told fans of the club to trust the process and trust the ideas he will bring to the table ahead of next season.

Maresca, who made the remarks in a chat with BBC Sports said that he is very happy to be the coach of the club and also promised fans that they will enjoy the journey.

After spending a week in his new position at Stamford Bridge, the former Leicester City manager said that he took over as Chelsea’s coach in part because he thought the team had talent.

“The feeling is fantastic,” he told the club website. “I’m very excited.

“One of the reasons I’m here is because I’m convinced the squad is very good and full of talent. The most important thing now is we’re able to create the right culture that drives us for the season.

“I always say the same: if you can improve players then you can improve the team. So it’s our target to try to improve all of them day by day.

“When you join a club like Chelsea, you know that it’s a club that has to win. So for us, we are going to try our best to be there, to fight and compete with the clubs that at this moment are winning and fighting to win titles.”

The final message below was intended for Chelsea supporters by the Italian professional football manager and former player, who will take on Pep Guardiola of Manchester City in his first EPL match.

“Just trust the process, trust the idea, be behind the team. For sure we are going to enjoy the journey,” he added.

“Like at every club, for every manager, it will not be easy because nothing is easy. But for sure we are going to enjoy our journey.”
