Super Falcons set to lock horns with Canada ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics
The Super Falcons of Nigeria tutored by Randy Waldrum is set to lock horns with the Canadian female national team ahead of the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
This information was made known by the Nigeria Football Federation which revealed that the friendly game will take place in the city of Sevilla in Spain on Wednesday, July 17.
According to the NFF, the Super Falcons will train for two weeks in Sevilla ahead of the Olympic Games which is set to kick off from July 26-August 11, 2024.
The last time Nigeria and Canada met in the group stage of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup the keenly contested game ended in a pulsating 0-0 draw.
At the Paris Olympics, the nine-time African champions are pitted in Group A with world champions Spain, Japan, and Brazil which will be their first game at the Stade Bordeaux on July 25.
The Falcons coached by Waldrum who has unveiled his 18-player squad for the Olympics later lock horns against Spain and Japan in games that will be held at the Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
