Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman has bagged the Atalanta Player of The Season award after having a stellar season with the top-flight Serie A club.
The talented player who was the hero of Atalanta’s remarkable UEFA Europa League campaign also won the individual accolade last season for his efforts.
This comes a day after English Premier League (EPL) club Liverpool showed interest in securing the capture of a talented Super Eagles winger who has grown in leaps and bounds.
The interest shown by Liverpool was made known in a report by CalcioMercato, who claimed that Liverpool is among a host of EPL sides including Man U and Chelsea that are interested in the player.
In 45 games for Atalanta in the 2023–24 season, Lookman scored 17 goals and added 10 assists, including a thrilling hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.
In 2015, Lookman played as a forward for Championship team Charlton Athletic in his senior year. In January 2017, he joined Everton, where he primarily served as a winger.
After playing at the under-19 and under-21 levels for England, Lookman earned his senior debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the year 2022.
